Holding Developers Accountable for Construction Defects
After months of preparation, you are ready to move in to your new property. You believe the construction was done with the highest standards of quality. Yet, after a short period of time, you realize something is wrong. Maybe you noticed:
- large cracks in your stucco or drywall
- foundation cracks
- plumbing leaks
- soil subsidence
- mold
- water seepage through your windows or roof
Whatever the defect, you need to contact an attorney immediately. Time is of the essence in construction disputes. You have to preserve important evidence and minimize your damages as soon as possible. If you are not sure if your issue is a construction defect, please see my Symptoms of Construction Defects page.
I have vast experience in construction defect and real estate law. I help clients in Orange County and throughout Southern California hold negligent developers, contractors and construction professionals accountable.
If you discover a defect on your property, contact my office immediately for an independent inspection and consultation on how I can protect your rights and secure damages. Call me at 714-919-4366 or toll free at 866-605-0023.
We Step in When You are Being Ignored
It is not unusual for the developer or contractor to ignore your telephone calls. They will claim to be too busy to repair the defect or tell you that your warranty has lapsed. Don't take on the expense of fixing the problem alone. Contractors, developers and their insurers do not want to pay for your repairs. Hire an experienced construction defect attorney.
The first step I take is to inspect every inch of your property for myself and review all the documentation, including warranties and disclosures. From there, I dispatch a team of experts to conduct their own inspection. In many construction defect claims, I find additional problems, with the help of my experts, that my clients were not aware of in the first place.
Aggressive Advocacy to Find the Best Solution to Your Claim
Before we proceed to litigation, I provide the developer or contractor with written notice giving him a chance to repair. If they continue to ignore the requests, I move forward to mediation. If that fails to get a response, I file for arbitration or courtroom trial. You are entitled to the best outcome and my job is to achieve the best result on your behalf.
